Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Galatians 6:10

St. Mary's fosters their value of SERVICE through a number of committees and extended opportunities to dedicate your good work.

Check out all of our committees below!

Our Service Committees

Bereavement Committee

The Bereavement Committee is led by Theresa LaPoint, a life-long member and trustee of St Mary’s who loves giving back to our church.  This committee coordinates funeral arrangements for the parish in tasks not directly addressed by the staff, including  but not limited to liturgical ministries at funeral Masses.

Buildings & Grounds

Members help to maintain the Church building and grounds, and help keep St. Mary's beautiful.

Cemetery Committee

Formed under the administration of Father Joe Manerowski, the Cemetery Committee assists with the oversight of the operations of St. Mary's and St. Alphonsus Cemeteries. They find solutions to problems that arise, as well as make suggestions to the future improvements to the properties.

Communications Committee

This committee disseminates information from all of the ministries and Pastor to the church and community utilizing various communication channels including social media, website, and more.  This committee is led by Melissa Wilkinson, who is passionate about her faith and communications.  She has been a member at St. Mary’s for 10 years and is excited to put her degree in Communications to use serving the parish and community.

Ecumenical Committee

A passionate speaker and an inspirational spiritual guide, Morgan James plays a vital part of our church. They are especially attuned to connecting with youth and new members, helping them find their place in our congregation.

Evangelization Recharge

Led by Joe Hooker, this committee undertakes the parish’s effort to reach out to the “unchurched” in our area, marginal and fallen-away Catholics.

Fellowship Committee

This committee is led by Shelley Englert and plans and schedules social events for parishioners throughout the year to encourage and strengthen personal connection and community.  Though its mission is not directly spiritual, it looks to plan social events which revolve around the liturgical calendar.

Finance Committee

This committee is mandated in every parish by Canon Law.  The function of this committee is to provide consultation to the pastor regarding significant expenditures, investment of parish funds and the purchase or sale of property.  The committee also assists in issuing the annual budget, review of the budget and the publication and distribution of the annual financial statement to the parish at-large.

Led by Sue Wright, our Director of Music, this committee is passionate about bringing spiritual music to our congregation, and helps introduce love of God through song.

Pastoral Council

This committee is led by Carol Brownell, a life-long member of St. Mary’s and a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy.  This committee  provides visitation, comfort services and the Eucharist  to the parish’s homebound.  If you would like a home visit, please contact Carol at 518-792-8991.

Pro Life Committee

Led by John O’Brien, our goal is to advocate for all Life issues, especially the Right to Life from conception to natural death.  We also have a heart to promote adoption. We help promote the local 40 Days for Life prayer campaign.
We would welcome the opportunity to help promote the teachings of the Catholic Church on the Life Issues in a broader way in our Parish to invite all to embrace God’s gift of Life.

Education is the key.

Spiritual Life Committee

This committee works to establish Bible study, prayer and discussion groups, and assist with liturgical devotions in the parish. We are committed to fostering ongoing spiritual education and development particularly during the seasons of Advent and Lent. We are   available to assist the Pastor in the Spiritual Enrichment needs of our Parish community.  This committee is led by Cathy Vesterby, who has been a leader in various faith pursuits for over 20 years.

This committee promotes vocation awareness in the parish through concrete programs and events.  They distribute and display vocation information sent to parishes by the diocesan vocations’ office.  Promotion of vocations to the priesthood is stressed, however, the need for vocations to the Religious Life, diaconate and lay ministries is also part of the mission.  Often working with diocesan seminarians, the committee makes parishioners aware of their paths to the priesthood.

Works of Mercy & Social Justice

This committee is passionate about serving our area's margionalized and overlooked.  If you thirst to make a difference in someone's life, then please contact this committee at St. Mary's.
